Super looking Mayser Spezial, Stefan. Man, you look good in green my friend.
Thanks, Steve. There are always exceptions to any rule I guess:)

You guys have really got me digging out my Bowlers and digging wearing them again.
After seeing @TheOldFashioned in his wonderful Woodrow Amylyte, I was inspired to wear this one this evening. I picked it up from @steur a couple of years ago.
Originally a riding hat that had apparently been in the wars, it was renovated by Fleur at Penumbra Hats. Along with Stefan's input I think both he and Fleur brought this one back to life in a very stylish way. View attachment 257621 View attachment 257622
Good to see that one out and about again. Fleur did a fabulous job on that hat.

Miller Western Hats - Black
5 1/2 open crown 4 7/8 as shaped
3/8 Black tri cord thin ribbon
2 7/8 brim with matching 3/16 bound edge

To say I am very pleased with today’s latest arrival is quite an understatement. I’ve been hankering for a black soft top western in a somewhat Stratoliner/Open Road style for quite a bit now. This one definitely is checking that box for me! The only downside is the sweat’s rear stitching is removed and it’s is cracked clean through on the side. However it still feels fine on the head. Think I’ll live with it for now and replace if/when needed. The felt on the crown is fairly thick and super soft... Possibly a tiny bit too soft as it’s not holding side dents on a quick hand crease so well. But that may come with steam or time. Just a fantastic casual wear Hat I could wear just about any time.

Don’t know the age on this one... but I’m assuming this came from the old Miller Stockman catalogs. Thanks again to @BobHufford for pointing me in the right direction on this one.

Nice catch, Joe and it looks good. Sweatbands can always be replaced.
Been building stands for my new block and flanger. Not finished, so I’ll post pics later.
But here’s a hat stretcher I built recently. View attachment 257686
Couldn’t find a large size on eBay, so I built one that features a TempleForm pattern for an egg shaped head like mine.
Works great!!
The one I had was too small and wonked up the brim from making the head opening oval too slim.
And a 60s Barlesoni today. View attachment 257689 View attachment 257690 View attachment 257688 View attachment 257687
That Barlesoni really is a great looking felt.

That's funny Terry! I didn't even see the hat (sorry David, not sorry).

Jonesy definitely knows how to capture those beautiful beach backgrounds:

That's a beauty! Love the contrast between felt and ribbon.

Maybe he hires them to walk in the frame? Good thinking!

This could be my favorite hat. Super light, Borsa.

I missed out on a Stetson Vintage 3X Beaver Open Road Size 7 1/2 Long Oval by $2.76, and 46 seconds the other night, but this Portis OR clone was plenty nice to wear to my local beach today. The felt is a beaver blend, and is light enough to take a dry bash, and wasn't too hot even though a fur hat on a tropical beach is a bit idiosyncratic.

Excellent Portis. Awesome beach too, which one you on today? It looks very "un-crowded" ;)
