Very cool. In two ways.Machine woven hat of unknown fiber origin... perhaps casein? Not a milk dud, though - the form is quite beautiful.

That is one fantastic Champ Randall... love the gills.View attachment 241203 New 40/50s Champ with gills. I sold my 60s thin ribbon Champ a few weeks ago so this one came up to take its place. A step up, for sure.
I’ve got several hats with this crossed stitched panel on the bow. What’s this feature called?
For Champ to be considered a bargain brand, you sure can’t tell it with this hat. Embossed in the sweat are the words: Custom Quality, so maybe that has something to do with it?
Very nice felt. I’d say it compares very closely with a 40s Harry Rolnick Kitten Finish, which to me, is saying a lot for the Champ co. In the 40s.
Hand felted edge is well done. View attachment 241204 View attachment 241200 View attachment 241201 View attachment 241202

I like the slight turn up on the brim. Looks good.Hello all, sorry I haven’t been on in a while, it’s been a brutal 2 or 3 weeks for me. I’m trying to catch up, and wearing my Akubra Balmoral for Warm rainy day:

Steve, a few days ago you said you ran out of steam ... but you did not finish the parade of excellent headgear, so put water back in the steam boiler and continue the parade of the fantastic European hatsWindsor possibly mid 1950s. Could have been made by Mayser - Milz.
Daniele, Thank you! Yes I am still going but I missed a day this week and stopped featuring a different hat company each week (most pre 1940 Hats). Hopefully I will post one today!Steve, a few days ago you said you ran out of steam ... but you did not finish the parade of excellent headgear, so put water back in the steam boiler and continue the parade of the fantastic European hats
Like butter. Thanks Alan.Very nice Perry... the softness of a big bold Borsalino is well captured in your photo. Thanks, as always, for sharing.

Today...here’s one that hasn’t seen the light of day here. Not my usual fare.
Was taking pics to show my daughter to give to a girlfriend for her birthday. Nice girl, only one i know that wears a black top hat, black clothes and leathers and wears them well.
A total sweetie pie....needs a real hat.
(I will require pics for you all) lol
Be well.
