My latest Brent Black. I picked it up used over the winter. Blocked in the classic fedora style.

This week I will feature Echter Borsalino Hats which were made for the German Market. The hats will be from the late 1920s up to the 1950s.

Echter Borsalino "Caffè", Point 5 1/2, 3 inch brim, very good condition, probably early 1950s. The Caffè Brown Felt has a great finish. Very nice Form and I really like the Bow design.

Steve, sometimes I feel that I’ve exhausted all the adjectives and superlatives and I don’t comment on post by you, Stefan, Alan, and a few others. What can I say that hasn’t been said before? However, I want you to know that I not only love to see the hats, I appreciate the scholarship and depth of knowledge you share. I look forward to seeing your posts and I appreciate the constant education. Thank you for taking the time to share with us all.

Nice, Max! I’m curious, how do you think the Penman compares to other similar hats? I’ve thought about ordering one but something has always stopped me.
The shape, leather, liner, and ribbon are really good. The felt, not so much I don't know what is in mine, but I doubt it's beaver. Maybe his full beaver hats are good. I just don't know.

Beautiful hat. Gotta get me one

Thanks Max - I've been searching for one since I got here, although that hasn't been very long.

This sweat is barely hanging on in this one unfortunately - I really would love to have the actual sweatband restored but I don't know if it's possible, the leather still has some life but the reed is toast. I guess you cant complain on 100+ years old.
