Scored TP today at Costco. We are not hoarding, we just were getting low. Double breasted jacket and a 1950s Hückel Special fedora. Forgive me for not wearing a tie, its not like I had to dress up to go to Walmart ya know. Wearing a new pair of Italian Massimo Emporio cap toe oxfords that I rescued from Ebay.

Good to see your dress sense hasn't suffered while you were a low frequency poster, Mike. We don't mind you not wearing a tie, but it might get a tsk tsk from the church ladies;)

This week I will feature J. Hückel´s Söhne Soft Felt Hats. J. Hückel´s Söhne was nationalized as Tonak after 1945.

J. Hückel´s Söhne "Alpha" "Seal Velour", French Point Size 5, Brim 2 1/4 inches, Crown Open 6 inches possibly mid 1930s. The gray "Alpha" "Seal Velour" is fantastic and easily dry creases. Really like the contrasting blue Zig-Zag stitching on the silk liner.

30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 29
Adam Hats - Executive Quality

View attachment 231649

Adam Hats Executive Quality
Light grey felt
4 3/4 Crown as bashed
1 1/2 Matching grosgrain ribbon with very unique treatment
2 3/4 Brim with 1/2 bound edge top (3/16 bottom)
1 7/8 brown leather sweatband

For the penultimate entry into the 30 Days to 30 Hats... I present the Adam Executive Quality. This wide brimmed beauty was the second of two hats that came off that hot tip from fellow lounge member @DaveProc

This hat is a real head turner with is very cool and unique ribbon treatment. It the ribbon needs a name... how about the Corona?

Saving the best for last, eh? Lovely hat, Joe.

I concur on the shape and proportions.

Early evening walk in a vintage Stetson Flagship. Crazy, hazy light has the hat coming out bluer than it is. It is blue, but not as brilliant as it shows.

Eric -
I have no objections to the flagship shining, Eric. And that Adam is a stunner as well.

I'm staying hunkered down in Casa Lockdown today doing some more yard chores. Dressing up for a trip out into the 'Rona Wasteland too a lot out of me yesterday. Didn't make it to Walmart yesterday, I was too under dressed not wearing a tie and a more formal Homburg, I would have felt out of place :). For working around the yard I will wear my Dobbs Milan early 1960s straw. The Hat Police be damned! I'm breaking all the rules. :p

Ran out in the rain in the akubra campdraft. Quick run to the post office for envelopes for masks I actually made for family and friends. I haven’t used my sewing machine in well over ten years and it needed a complete overhaul. A few shots from today, thanks to the wife, who says I look the best when almost my entire face is covered. Then one shot from our family walk the other day, in my VS Artlite.

Another spectacular Hommie Stefan!
Stefan, that is absolutely fantastic.
Thanks, gentlemen! It is quite the unusual colour for a homburg.

There's no logical reason why that colour combination should work, Brent, but it does anyway.

Cool pics, Alan, and cool face masks as well. I thought you had your daughter assigned to that job.

That is an elegant crown crease. It really adds to the hat.

This morning it reminds of the terrific thread "Teardrop Workshop." https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/teardrop-workshop.38228/

I remember many years ago reading with interest and learning how to make the perfect crease. "Teardrop", "Arkansas crease," or whatever name they are very cool. I never really mastered the details. Perhaps that would make a good project.

FYI: The thread Diamond Authority is another excellent blast from the past. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/the-diamond-authority.22275/ . Good to know my little gray cells have not deteriorated quickly over the pandemic.

Cheers, Eric -

Helluva bash Tim. Great hat.

Thanks for noticing the crease guys, I did work hard on that one to get it as perfect as possible. My OCD helps, (and a Popsicle stick).
