Tonak Antelope on this yet again very sunny but cold day in Elsinore. View attachment 222648 View attachment 222649
Dang, Steve! That Tonak does look good in the sunshine and the worst part for my envy is that I know exactly how the felt feels.:)
Greetings All:
Today...got to spend some time out today with my best friend. Lolo wanted in on the pics so she’s sporting the Uncle Bob 3X LD Sandhiller and me in my lightweight VF Strat. Wish i could say it had some blue in it but that might be a lie.
Be well and safe.

The company has chased the blues away, Bowen. Super hats and super pics.

View attachment 222663 My first 40s era Dobbs. Maybe even late 30s? idk. I know this: the flimsy felt makes for a super thin summer weight homburg.
It’s very nice. Near mint.
It arrived today misshapen, but shaped very easily with a just a bit of steam as if it couldn’t wait to be brought back to its former glory. View attachment 222662 View attachment 222664 View attachment 222665 View attachment 222666
I read it long ago, but I’m off to the Dobbs dating thread again to see if I can nail down a closer guess on its build date.
It certainly is a whole lot of glory. Wonderful catch, Randall.

Love it, Joe. Classic and stylish.

Hello Everyone,

The Nutria Quality refurb was the choice for today. Also a picture of a cute baby to distract everyone. This is my boy Henry Wyatt Williams - he sure has been keeping me busy and makes coming home after braving the outside world extra special.

Yesterday and today.
Battersby (because it's so nice I have it stored in a box and it doesn't get much wear; not fair at all).

While not being able to go teach at my school, my outer Englishman look has been put on hold and my inner Cowboy is taking over.
This is the fourth of my newly acquired hats from Randall.
He reshaped this Resistol Western but definitely kept the western look. I love the way the front of the brim comes to a curved peak. Randall also created a new ribbon and bow for this one.
Great job, Randall. Thanks for the deal, my friend IMG_20200326_211359.jpg IMG_20200326_211407.jpg IMG_20200326_211435.jpg IMG_20200326_211529.jpg IMG_20200326_211651_1.jpg

I was thinking of buying a really nice bowler, in a rare size 7 1-2 from @Randall Renshaw, but just couldn't see wearing it with board shorts at the beach. He was nice enough to point me in the direction of this Portis on The Bay which I am very happy with. It says that it is imported felt and a beaver blend. Not sure what I have but it was sold as late 50s, early 60s.The felt is quite soft and dense. I added just a bit of steam to crease it but it takes a shape pretty easily. The wind trolly is a nice touch, although it would not hold up to the brisk trade winds that are blowing this week.
I took it out for a walk on the coastal trail near my place, and things were pretty quiet. The tourists are mostly gone, and even the locals are starting to heed the stay at home order.
Peace,
David
