Hej guys.

I feel I'm so out of the loop. I cannot easily follow what's going on on the Lounge as Tapatalk has been de-cobbled. The FL site is far too cumbersome on my phone and computer to be easily able to reply and upload photos. I see others are able to, though. Am I missing something?

Just tried to upload a photo but, as always, when I do it via computer, it gets denied as too large.

Any help will be appreciated, otherwise if Tapatalk doesn't come back, it's goodbye to you all and thanks for the good times.

P.S. That photo was the only one to get through out of many.

I find original picture files from my phone are too large to upload, which is sensible as they are 50+ inches in the long dimension at 72ppi (standard screen pitch). Tapatalk might reduce the images for posting by default - I don't use it. Generally, I transfer photos from my phone to a desktop computer and size them down manually in Photoshop to 14 x 10" at 72ppi. These files run about 300kb in high quality and upload fine.

If I'm on the road and using the forum on my phone's browser, I sometimes run into the image size constraint. One workaround is to message the photos to myself which gives me the option to select the photo size/quality. I usually select "large" on the iPhone, rather than original, which is a good compromise and works for the forum.

I know you don't use an iPhone and I don't use Tapatalk, but hoping this helps. It would be a shame to lose your input from frustration.

I figured out how to post photos from my phone, but it’s nowhere near as simple or intuitive as Tapatalk. Worse, navigating The Lounge is much slower and more difficult than it was on Tapatalk, at least when using a phone. I hope the bartenders or administrators or someone get a fix worked out. As it is, this isn’t worth the aggravation.

Thanks, Reggie. This “Royal De Luxe Stetson” was made in the 1940s. I got it in a trade with Mark @M Hatman.

I’ve enjoyed all your photos. Women look great in hats, but we don’t seem to get too many of them here on the hat forum.

I know it can be confusing to keep people straight, but please feel free to call me Brent. I used Deadlyhandsome because that was my eBay name (after the song). The name was alright on eBay when selling or buying, but it’s something I’ve constantly regretted here. I wish I could change it.

It was the photo file size that brought me under the heel of tapatalk's boot, even though I hated them in advance because their FL ad was so big I couldn't see a text I was responding to after bringing up a keyboard.
Now, it seems, I have to grow up and be a big boy, learning to size picture files myself. I'm an old dog and wasn't looking to learn new tricks.
I am seeing some welcome tips here at the Lounge though, so all hope is not lost.

So, chin up, Steve! Back in the saddle! Please try cropping as much as possible. Hold the phone as far away as possible so that you can crop out a significant amount around you. It works, at least with my iPhone 7. Try some test shots?

It’s never been an issue for me (us). Maybe it’s just you? I don’t mind the request, but you’re over estimating my tech skills if you think I can change the pixel count. It’s all magic to me.

I didn't even know what was meant by a file, isn't that a serrated tool for rubbing burrs off? Or a free standing cabinet with drawers for holding documents?
