Stetson Open Road 3X this morning. Not all Open Roads are equal! Stetson introduced the "Open Road" in 1946. The thin ribbon high block styled hats had been around for some time.

This 3X has that desirable felt - clay like ability to take a crease over and over again. I can pop it on and change the crease easily on my head. Very organic trait. This hat is a strong argument for vintage felted fedoras.

Lovely OR, Eric. I need to get out my 3X one of these days.

Bill, wow! Just wow! Quite the talented fellow you are.

Miachael, you rock the jacket hat combo today.

Perry, I can count on and look forward to your post each morning. Your post does not disappoint. Cheers Doc.

Wearing the smaller hat well this morning. As to your cousin - wow! A hobby that is on the verge of out of control. Air driven turntable - cool. What could go wrong! Boy you could really spend some time listening to music.

You make the smaller hats look fashionable in my humble opinion. Excellent.

Best, Eric -
Thanks Eric. Been more coat than jacket weather here lately, but seems like that has changed and the next 10 days might well be a straight run of jacket weather.

Thought so. Great contrast, Michael. As you know, I'm a sucker for a back bow.

I'm a fan of back bow, too. And I like the color changes that go on with this ribbon in varying light conditions.

Cloudy today and I needed some color to cheer up ;)

Theme is blue again but with a touch of red this time

Super color combo on that hat, Panos. And gills. It's got it all going on. Love that jacket too. Classic look.

Nice fuzzy Michael. Cool bow on the narrow ribbon.
Thanks Tim. I should finish that bow one of these days. The hat came without a ribbon, so I made one up. Hope you got a good ride in on the motorcycle today.

Thanks all,
Michael

Cool find... here is an earlier iteration of the Keith Bros. sweatband imprint.

Very cool imprint on the sweatband Alan. I was reading through that thread. I agree with you as I believe you mentioned in there it is odd the large gap between examples.. as this one appears to be a 60’s example. Need to post it in there as well [emoji846]

Do you think it Possible that considering the DuPont treatment these have, as Tim and I were discussing, could have been private labeled by Lee at that point in the Keith timeline.

Best,
Joe

I've not studied the history of this company, but by the 1960s, it is likely that it was a brand consolidated into the handful of surviving companies at that time. A decade later, they would all be gone.
