P. & C. Habig Wien "Special Qualität" possibly 1920s. This old Austrian Velour was missing the liner and ribbon so had it restored by Optimo Chicago about 7 years ago. I went with a non traditional ribbon / bow.

The Habig advertisement stand is fantastic. It could definitely date from the mid to late 1920s imo.

Back from church. We visited old friends at a Spanish speaking congregation today. I must say, the latino group is much more outoing and proactive in coming up and saying hello than our current gringo contingent. Nice to see old friends and how much their kids have grown.

I wore my late 50s Cavanagh Homburg with the half-blind brim stitching and Sandra was going to wear her BSHW cloche, but we were running late so she just grabbed her handmade cap from BkmHattitude, an Etsy artist.

There are both English and Spanish speaking congregations in this church, but the English speaking group we attend is closer to our home. My Dad's church had a Tongan congregation in the same building. Very neat. I spent 2 years in the South Pacific and studied both Tongan and Niuean languages.

The shirt is a Nat Nast that I found thrifting recently. I think the unusual ribbon treatment goes well with the shirt.

Great hat and cool pics Justin. Sort of reminds me of my Grandpa's back yard with more than one '41 Plymouth parts car rusting away. I also have a pic of him (somewhere) from when he lived in Chicago and he's giving off the same vibe.

I really appreciate that! You really can't beat the classic cars, in any state of decay, but I prefer when they're on the road. This one is actually a pretty complete car, I have almost everything needed for it... Except for the time to put it all back in haha

Well, I guess I know what hat I won't be wearing today...... had just steamed and shaped it. Left in on the upstairs gameroom table then went to watch a movie in the theater room. Came out to find pup pup with a mouthful of straw. <sigh> the look on my face scared the crap out of her and she took off running, smart. I needed a few minutes to regain my composure . Guess I have a new Jed Clampet hat.

I brought him another hat back from my 2nd trip to Ecuador, and he lost it in the fire that burned down his house. I was afraid to bring him any more hats!

He still has the 3rd hat... but we waited a couple years before bringing him another.

Very sorry for your loss, Ken. My heart hurts seeing that one... I guess it would still make do for a yard hat???

Thanks....burial will be on Monday, send prayers. For the hat, not the dog. Bright side is snagged this off ebay for 25 bucks, had Art reshape it and put on a new ribbon for another hundred. I repurposed the ribbon onto another hat. But dang, I bet that Worth&Worth Montichristi originally sold for nearly a grand. Oh well at least a dozen more tucked safely away in the closet, my head shall not go naked. lol.
