We habe a very unique type of thrift store here called Good Will Outlet World. It's a massive warehouse and everything is in wheeled carts/tubs that are about 5'x0'. There are 8 or nine rows of them, about 10 tubs long. Everything is just piled in them, and you go dig around. Picture dumpster diving!
Most things you pay $1.29/# for, but glass is cheaper and heavy items top out at $8 or $5.
Every once in a while they roll two rows of the carts out and bring in replacements. An official yells at everyone to stay back, then allows them to line up along the carts, then shouts "shop!"
Picture one of those scenes from a third world dump.
You never know what you'll find there. I have found a couple of decent Westerns.
Today I happened to find a Red Army hat.
Note that it seems to be size 59. It fits like a 57.
I've heard they used to send extra large condoms to the West marked S. This propaganda is puzzling.
