I'll echo what the other have said: keep it! That's a fine looking hat and there's nothing wrong with having more hats in the same colour (and shape).

whoaaa. So I'm sure there are differences and I of course have many black leather jackets and many blue denim jeans, but how do you chose which one you want to wear? What's the deciding factor? I'm curious

I have the Borsolino in my place, I'm going to try it with different outfits this weekend to see

There you go!
I won't even make any suggestions I might have when I was much younger, single, and if I was flirting with you.

Even better. He'll have his own opportunity in the future.

I have no Idea what purge you mean, and have also been clueless about other moon related things you've alluded to. I did figure it was between friends though.

I'm sure you meant no disrespect, but it wouldt be worth your while to check out who folks are before posting comments.

It's learning by doing, JJ. It's up to you what you think fits your style on the day and in the mood you're in. The Borsalino you bought is a keeper. You may not wear it much now, but one day you will.

Today.....i’m showcasing this, too small for me RD OR in a color i don’t think i’ve ever seen before. If it fit i’d never let it go but it’s destined for someone who can appreciate it more so bye bye.
I’ve always admired the felt and especially the color of it and today i realized why. This hat felt and color is the spitting image of a Borsalino Featherweight in the color Bismuto that i enjoy so much. Last pic shows both together.
Be well. Bowen
A shame the OR is too small, but you have the Borsalino to console your.... sole. :)

Thank you it is light but doesn't always photograph that way. It's silverbelly, which the longer I'm around hats within that color range, the more confusing it can become. I've posted a few pics of that 7X CB alongside a 50's 7X CB and a Stetson 100 that comes from the same era as the first 7.

It's a great hat to wear day after day, that's for sure. I can't decide if I like the Playboy or the Dobbs Cross Country best.

Finally bustin' out the straws.

PB Milan "Tankersley." The second one made. Wheedled this off moonie during the purge.

Those are so pretty. I want to pet them lol and they're all silverbelly from different eras/models? What a difference. I guess each batch has slight variations but also how they aged and perhaps exposure to sun

Thank you and I think that's one of the first feelings a great hat should illicit. They all feel similar in finish (suede or a fine buckskin) similar to your's, I'm sure. No discernible difference IMO between the 7 and 100. Your last sentence is pretty damn refreshing "grasshopper".

I apologize in all sincerity. I meant no offense, and humbly beg your pardon. My exuberance today led me to presume a familiarity I had no right to without invitation. It will not happen again.

Eh. I really didn't participate in the fire sale. I'd been planning on trying to talk him out of this hat anyway.

He had a great collection. And he's a great guy, even if he is from Jersey.

It's best I bite my
tongue. It was a fire sale?
Thats sad. Health issues or something?

Today, after modeling my straw hats in a bit of a skit (I didn't go touch the boater ... it's like those dating sites ... you begin with a picture,) i wore my most recent Milan straw, the green one with the bronze pug and no identification beyond the one faint word on the leather sweat; Milan. Now that I'm home, having many hats I could don, including some new ones I'm anxious to share in another thread, I decided to wear the most surprising one. It too is new (But I'm WEARING it, Bartender!) however, I didnt buy it. The woman.who drove down from Conifer and met me after a church service, bearing two Dobbs, three woman's hats (a beret of some sort and two exiters) and gloves that are simply mavelous, Dahling, mavelous. Said she pulled these treasured from the barn her deceased husband, the hoarder, had left behind for her to deal with. By this time the short brim are out of their original boxes and I'm handling them while she models the little womens hats. I am sometimes a quick study, though I havent particularly evidenced it here at the lounge. I picked up on the hoarders garage and immediately told her to keep my number and call if any more hats turnrd up. I told her qbout the bad shoulders and the struggling student aspirimg to, one day,.become a real hatter. Her husband, she said, worked all his life for Ma Bell. The barn, along with everyhing else, she said, was folleeú wasrr

I couldn't type the story, but this is tonight's hat. It's a Coker's, another Texas hatter out of Fort Worth. Pretty nice for a beat up black Western. And it was in the barn too; i found a dead spider under the sewn in lining. She actually gifted it to me
Oh, here, take this too!
Most amazing of all, it's an honest to goodness 7 1/8.
