I sure have enjoyed your recent passion of vintage suits. Wish I was a size more attainable in these. You rock!

thank you!! I really enjoyed reading your take on that film. I hope to watch it someday if it comes out online. From what I've seen, it looks top-notch... and your hat choice worked perfectly, couldn't have picked a better one to accompany you on that viewing

I'm wearing a Royal Stetson thin ribbon that I took apart and sized up from a 7 1/8 LO to a 7 1/4 a few months back. It's a real nice hat except for the 2 1/2 inches brim width that I literally hate. It's a perfect width that looks great on some people, but for me, I don't care much for fedoras with brim widths under 2 5/8 inches. This nice hat hardly gets worn because of the brim width. So, back it goes.

As it appears, now. Everything was reused, (except for the sweat), even the size tag.

Maybe it's just me being used to seeing you in wider brims but I agree. Nice looking hat though.

For me, 2 5/8 and 2 3/4 for a brim width is where I want to be. The 2 1/2 inch brim width on this one just kills it for me, which is a shame because it's such a nice hat.

Here's another view of the hat from a different angle after I first finished it this past Summer. I still can't warm up to that brim width...

Here's my thin ribbon Bradford that I reworked for comparison. This one has a 2 3/4 brim that I like much better...

No, the 2 1/2 brim width on the Stetson just doesn't 'do it' for me.

Great looking hat, even if it doesn’t match up with your preferred brim consistency. Good to keep around to mix it up once in awhile maybe?

We have tickets to the only showing of Peter Jackson's (Hobbit director) WWI Movie, "They Shall Not Grow Old". Very excited about seeing this one. He is a WWI Historian as well as a Hollywood Director, this one is right up his alley. Figured a 100 year old stiff felt was the ticket.

Great bowler Mike. I’ve heard the movie is great and very moving. You’ll have to give us a review.

All of your conversions are spectacular Terry. I don't have any problems with narrower brims, but I respect you and Bill for your opinions on this. With the towering straight crowns you produce, I do agree that they kind of need that little extra brim width to balance it out. The 2 1/2" is still a great hat, hell, I'd wear it on a daily basis!

Eric, I really dig that buckskin get color. Hope you aren’t snowed in or snowed out.

Thanks Jeff. Easy color to wear. We did not get the big snowfall amounts like your area. The snow, rain and then snow has given us slippery conditions everywhere. I would rather have had big snow. Cold snap should be on us by tonight. Stay warm Jeff.

I always enjoy this Adam with its cool gills. I assume 1950s?

Thanks sir. I have several different "like" Adams hats from different years and hues. This one is a 50's hat. Some day I need to get a family shot together. Below is a couple of pic from many years ago. Incomplete family pic ( a couple non-gilled hats also shown), but shows some of the variations. I have accumulated a couple more of the gilled hats and really need to make time to gather them in one place.

The poor pic (from early in my forum days)and poor quality does not show the felt hues. New pics are due.

Best, Eric -

Greetings All:
Today...wishing everyone a Merry Happy in between Holidays day.
Trying out the Stratoliner Vita-Felt of the 40s. Unlined, unreeded, wish it still had the tip sticker.
Be well. Bowen
Ps: as always my appreciation for all the kind words from each of you.
Pss: Santa brought me a gorgeous Sugar White Sugar Plum Stetson Last Drop. Sweet!!
