Royal Stetson refurbed by Bob Jesse at BSHW. Love the velvety, taupe felt on this. Almost floppy it's so soft, but holds the crease with steam. Kind of a dark red-ish brown/burgundy ribbon and a champagne colored brim binding. This one came to me all wonky and super dirty. Bob did a great job cleaning this (twice! because it so dirty), blocking it and reattaching the sweat and ribbons.

My first Royal Stetson, and part of the inspiration for my Natural/Slate custom from Michael Gannon, I don't think I'll ever let it go.

Paired with a moss green fleece jacket, the taupe felt shows off it's compatibility with a wide range of colors. Pleasing to the eye where the silverbelly/old copper I picked out originally this morning just didn't work for me.

Now that is Homberg with a brim that looks just right to me. If I were to wear a Homberg, that would be It! Looks great!
Hey folks!
It's not my oldest Homburg, and not necessarily my finest (but I'd be hard pressed to pick which one is, most likely decide on a 12 way tie) but this old Collins and Fairbanks from Charlie's neck o' the woods is, I believe, my grandest.

No... No...
That's Thursday.

Tuesday is the run through downtown Norfolk in the jacket and a derby screaming "TO ARMS! TO ARMS!!! THE REDCOATS ARE COMING! THE REDCOATS ARE COMING!!!"

But damn brother... you know me well!
Dig that crease, Matt! We're finally getting a cool front this week; it'll come soon for you. Just go out there and shake that Polar at the midnight moon while chanting in unintelligible tongues.

Yeah, I know. For you that's just a Tuesday...

Thanks Jeff.

Funny... I am dying for 40s here. Want to wear felts and jackets.

I guess that the grass is always greener...

Enjoy.

The grass is always greener... where it’s warm! But I have to say I can’t complain too much since I prefer wearing felt hats to my straws anyway. I just prefer straw *weather*!

Very good looking hat! Matches the shirt too. I can't imagine who could do such a fine Stagecoach conversion.
Great new Stagecoach conversion arrived yesterday from a fellow lounger.....now I don't "rock" this near as well as he did, but I sure do like it! This will gets lots of outdoor time this fall. ;)

‘Afternoon!

New to me Knox Twenty. Very dirty overall and has a good sized, rather unsightly moth gouge on the right side up top mid-back (All the other uglies you see are light stains). Nice felt. Nice light gray. I’ll have it cleaned and blocked to make it look a little more purdy, but will be proudly wearing it as one of my beaters with no misgivings.

Black sweat? 1960s? Must not have made too many wide brimmed cav-edged hats in the ‘60s...???

Enjoy!

I think "GRANDEST" is an apt description, Moe. ScramPOPulous Homburg from one of the best in the business!
