Hey all!
Homburgs seem to be the theme with me lately. This Tirard "Edka" was supposed to have been a bowler. Fruno made me buy it. Glad that it wasn't and that he did!

No subtle color undertones here..

Doesn't seem at all out of place atop a shirt with pineapples. :)
Have a great day!

A good homburg conquers all, John. Very nice (if a bit austere) Tirard.

Most likely German but no company marks. The construction methods are primitive so possibly a local hatter. The black Fur Felt is tissue thin and will change form with just a slight touch. Difficult to date but I think it could be old. I can't remember when I found this one but luckily it appeared to me today so I decided to wear it.

I like it, Steve. These mystery hats are nice to find and this one has redeeming qualities for sure.

I had a Dutch girlfriend for four years, and spent a lot of time with her and her family. I learned to love Holland, even though I've never been there. I even learned a little Dutch, which I've mostly forgotten. All I remember now is mooi, groen, and lelijk.

I spent over a month in Spain this year, so maybe next, I'll go to Holland.

Welcome aboard, Marcel!
I, too, have planned to visit your beautiful land ever since my childhood. I want to put a finger in a dike!
You can practice at home: start with a flowerpot! In Spaarndam, near Haarlem, they've actually erected a statue of Hans Brinker, who is completely fictional (and has nothing to do with Spaarndam in any way in the book).

Anything to draw in tourists!
