Early morning my dog and I were out. I was wearing a vtg. inspired custom hat, VS (art-lite silvermist beaver felt). The hat was inspired by the vtg.Stetson Weston.

This was the same hat as the Whippet, but with a welted brim edge. Great clean look.

Have not seen a Weston in real life. I continue to look for a Weston, as this would be an excellent hat to wear about. In the meantime my VS gets wear

I got back home and switched hats to enjoying the early morning sun. I switched to a vtg.Stetson Stratoliner. This gray 50's thin - ribboned hat is in minty condition. It pairs well with morning coffee.

I love green, I adore wide ribbons, I have a penchant for back bows, and my heart will always belong to Battersby Hats of Manchester.

Therefore, this 1940s model was a must for this evenings walk around the coast of Elsinore.

The liner is not stitched nor glued, but just loosely fitted.

Well done, Steve. I like Battersby very much, but this one never worked for me (maybe it was the green?:))

Hey all!
The filtered sunlight helps bring out the green undertones of this circa turn-of-the-millenium Borsalino Como, my first nice fur felt. At 81g and $3 to the thrift store it is my lightest felt, not only on the head but also on the wallet.

Lightweight felts are awesome and Borsalino does them to perfection. I'll not comment on the green undertones;)

Insomnia for the second night in a row. Unusual for me, but what a great opportunity to post the Stetson mode edge I wore today (yesterday) even though I hardly left the house.
I could get used to finding vintage fedoras like this one.

As long as it's not the hat that's keeping you up, Jeff. Would be a shame to lose it, because it is magnificent.

Somber morning indeed. Hearing the news on my public radio station this morning had me gulping air thinking of all the families and communities. Be safe all.

Early morning dog walk in a thin ribbon Adam. Minty hat worked to keep the fog and mist off my bald pate this morning.

Our weather is steaming up so I switched to a bolder ribbon treatment felted hat with a very spiffy mesh interior. This hat has a bunch of great characteristics. Some obvious and others not so much like the felt is very malleable. I was curious as to whether the mesh makes the hat more comfy (than the thin ribbon Adam above) to wear in this weather. Both hats are similar felt weight, brim length and very similar crown height. We shall see.
