I'll extend Whippet Wednesday into a Thursday event also. I love this little mid-gray but I fight the brim constantly. I can snap it down and steam it but after a week or so it's back up again. Oh well, hats will be hats!

Hopefully it will be a little more spring like, and possibly less windy, tomorrow.

Have a great Thursday,

Great looking straw, Bowen. I especially like the ribbon colour and shape.View attachment 167950 View attachment 167951 View attachment 167952 View attachment 167953 Greetings All:
Today....a Straw for y’all!
Quite old and a wonderful airy weave. I find this one to have the fedora profile and proportions i prefer.
Bangkor Straw
Be well. Bowen
That's a great Borsalino nutria, Alan. Fantastic shade of grey with contrasting black mid wide ribbon. The brim shape just adds to its desirability. Nice.Borsalino feather weight... so different than what American manufacturers were doing with nutria felt in the 1950s.
Sorry to hear that Terry. God Bless.Wearing my 7X Quality Western Thin ribbon conversion this a.m.
Finally laid my Mom's ashes to rest last week. Dementia finally got the best of her, but even through all of that people were surprised that she retained her sharp wit and her sense of humor. This was her at around 19 or 20 years old...
This was my Mom's Mother, (my actual Grandmother), who she never knew. My Mom's mother was "Miss Columbus", (Ohio), sometime before 1936. This newspaper clipping is one of two pictures that we have of her. She died in the hospital shortly after giving birth to my Mom...
and this is me from the late '70s, (probably around 24 at the time), and I'm hatless!
Sorry to hear about your mom, Terry. My condolances.Wearing my 7X Quality Western Thin ribbon conversion this a.m.

Could be I'm with Donna on this one, Alan. This might have everyone asking if you've picked up paintingView attachment 167737
Can a beret ever be too large or too bold? Donna and I might have to agree to disagree on that one...
Nothing like a good homburg. Wonderful hat, Alan.Less adventurous headwear yesterday, a private label homburg made for a well known Kansas City store.

Colour me jealous. Magnificent!Borsalino "Ipersca" in misto Ionio light gray felt. For you students of hat dating, note the combination of an earlier (perhaps 1940s) manufacturing tag with the milky vinyl crown protector.
