Well, TODAY (even with the threat of more cold and snow:eek:) I finnally traded out my daily Winter work hat (I wear it MOST days) for my SPRING work hat! And of course wore it to work today! As per normal you can see it does not sport the factory crease......just kept remnants on top......
OUT WITH WINTER......;)

Way to go, Doug! They’re lucky to have you.

It's the first office I've ever worked for that actually takes into account your previous work experience. They offered me about $300 more per month than I was making at my last office after 9 years... it's nice to be able to leave a dysfunctional office and do better in your next career position.

I'll have to find some to sip while I wear this hat.

Yes, Doug, congratulations. It's always nice to move into a situation that really agrees with you.

I don't like windcords. They keep moving around, and I don't really think they're necessary nowadays, unless you live in Chicago and walk around a lot.
I don't take them off the hats that have them because I feel I would desecrate the hat itself, but I don't like them.
I tuck them under the ribbon as much as I can.

My second Champ purchase included one that was a tangled mess. I have no idea how to even use one, but I had a hard time removing it too, just because it was there. I steeled my nerves, then cut it off fast, just like ripping a bandage off a scab.
It didn't bleed at all!

Is that the correct way to wear the cord? I purchased a Champ with one, and it was tucked under the bottom edge of the grosgrain. I now own another hat with one, but didn't own any until two weeks ago.

very sharp lid, BTW!
Thanks! Would be best to keep the cord at the lower ribbon edge. If the cord has a button it should be placed mid to rear of bow (this varies).

They call my home town The Windy City, but it actually has nothing to do with weather, air currents, or a stiff breeze.
When Chi-town was the booming city on the plains, stockyards shipping the beef, and corn, as well as processed flour, supplying the Eastern seaboard, travellers going back east from Chicago couldn't help but wax eloquent about their Nirvana on the southern tip of Lake Michigan. You could hatdly shut them up! The consensus in New York was that they were all full of wind.
The name stuck.

The wind cord remains on my first Champ purchase, and I even like the button.
I did remove it from the second one, but that's because the entire hat band came off. It was a shabby, faded mess, and too big, at 2", for the 1 3/8" brim, in my mind, anyway.

Well, I lived in Chicago for 8 years of my life, and it is pretty darned windy. One winter the wind was so bad it froze the tears in my eyes, and I couldn't see where to run. The windchill factor was 80 below.
