Warmest day of the calendar year ahead. Supposed to get close to 70F, so time to bust out the Panama. Cheap garage sale find by the wife. Won't complain since she humors, if not indulges me in my hat collection. Neat iridescent pug that transitions from blue to hints of red depending on the angle of sunlight:

Today....from my front porch throne, shivering uncontrollably, it’s 52 deg, and hating winter, oh it’s spring.
It’s a Dobbs Forty from oh i guess the Fortys.
I had to get this one out just to keep me from purchasing the gorgeous Twenty for sale in the classifieds. Sad and happy but it worked.

At one time this hat had a Crease Clip. You can see the wear around the logo.

Still has the original exterior paper size label.

Very nice, Brent. Seems to bridge the gap between dress hat and western. The mid-size ribbon is an excellent choice.

Btw Steve, I don't know if you know this, but the rhyme for the Wilke is based on a German nursery rhyme about a three-cornered hat. We have a version of it in Denmark, too.
