Travelling in a Mallory Pilafelt with a smaller brim for greater comfort on the flight. Will change into the Echter Mayser in the case for the wedding later this PM.

Love the travel hat case and the colour of the hat. To work with my nut a wider brim would better though as chosen as your travel companion I understand the advantages of not bumping into overhead plane lockers.

My latest Wolfbrae Panama made its long awaited debut today. for those of you who haven’t seen it on the new hats thread or the Wolfbrae thread, the ribbon is made from kimono fabric which we supplied straight from Japan.. Robert suggested the solid green strip running through the middle and Etsuko suggested the accent on the bow using some more kimono fabric we had supplied. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. It’s a pleasure to wear. I love my first Wolfbrae, but the more modest proportions on this one will make it easier to wear regularly.

Around my neck is a Māori Pounamu carving. Pounamu is the Māori name for New Zealand (particularly South Island) jade, and it’s highly treasured in the Māori culture. You should never buy Pounamu for yourself. Etsuko bought me my pieces, and me hers.

Your panama turned out wonderfully Gary, the ribbon is really unique and beautiful. How wide is the brim on this one?

Happy Fedora Friday! I will be going live at 11am EST for today's installment of Hat Chat while wearing my Stetson Bowler. Please feel free to pop in and let's talk about anything hat-related. This will be the final installment before I go on a trip to NYC to visit friends and family. The plan is to resume the Hat Chat episodes upon my return.
