-3 is cold enough for most purposes. And I was crying about -3.
I'll agree with your Swedish patient. I did about 30 minutes of walking outside today and it was perfectly pleasant. 30 years ago I would have spent the day cross country skiing, but I'm not up to that anymore. Ha ha.A Swedish patient in Chicago once told me that there is no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothing for it.

I thought it could be the very coat, Red, but alas, this one dates from 1982. I always envied my cousin's winter footwear when they were sporting bunny boots. I had to settle for pac boots. The coat and hat both worked well to keep my comfy on my outing today.I think I had that exact parka while at Elmendorf AFB. Coldest I ever had to deal with was 70 below in Fairbanks on a work trip in 1976, can't even breath at those temps. You need "bunny boots" (the big white ones).
It had a cattleman crease but I changed it. Wish it had a higher crown...Those are both great Joao! The American hat company hat has some really nice lines.
From those two, the panda is the one. The AHC can be a better quality but I prefer the panda...the panda is stunning
Excellent Joao.A black American Hat Company and a silverbelly Resistol Panda.
Yep, gotta love it!A favorite of late and likely of the future.

That outfit looks warm. Are the pants and coat a set?Where's the fun in that, Red? I went walkabout instead. Very nice, except I overheated a bit. Today the temperature is lower. I think it was -24 when I got up. I'm very disappointed with the wind chill though, it was a paltry -38. i think I'll walk over and catch the next bus anyway.

It was warm. When I was a kid I had a pair of USAF flight pants that would have been a closer match to the jacket, but this pairing is quite the opposite of a match. The jacket is a N-3B USAF jacket from the 80's and the pants are German Kriegsmarine leather engine room or foul weather pants. Not sure if they are original or reproduction as they are missing part of the label, but they appear to date from 1943. I wear them over heavy wool pants, or today my snowmobile suit, when I want absolute windproofness. The whole get up made for a very comfortable walk around town when the temps with windchill were in the -30s.That outfit looks warm. Are the pants and coat a set?
