I've been envious of Hurricane Jack's (@Hurricane Jack) The Brigadier, ever since the first time I saw a photo of it. So, naturally, I felt compelled to at least make a stab at having a version of my own. Mine started as a 90s 3X beaver Worth-Walden. The brim got trimmed to 3”, then lowered greatly and given just the gentlest of kettle curls. Its crown was reshaped into the center-dent, and it was fitted with a new ribbon with a campaign bow. Definitely NOT as stunning as HJ's, but I’m pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Definitely a hat to be proud of !! The campaign bow really sets it off in my opinion.

Yesterday I shifted to a very local area of Bangkok. Today I was out and about and saw a local fellow with a nicer-than-average stingy brim on his head. Turns out it is a Knox, maybe late sixties/early 70s. I'm in the FED IV.

For foodies out there, this neighborhood is the type of Asian place where you will find insects on offer. I love insects - but stay away from grasshoppers. They have burs in their legs that dig into the gums and aren't easily removed. These crickets and silkworms are amazing, though - especially alongside a simple (but super delicious) fried noodle dish.

I bought this 3X ME long hair back in June and put it away until cooler weather. Today is definitely cooler. Paired with a Pendleton Board Shirt.

A longhair heathered Stetson? Yes, please! Glorious hat, Don.

The other day I was on Ebay & I spotted this poor old hat all folded up in this little box. I had never heard of the maker but a quick Google search told me Hardeman made hats from 1909 until 1954.
For 14.99 I took a chance...what the heck. When the hat arrived yesterday I was pleasantly surprised to find that with a little steam to get the brim in shape and a good brushing it was good as new ! The hat has a silvery-blue hue to it as does the 7/8" grosgrain ribbon. I really like the reedless sweatband and the stitching on the brim edge is a nice touch too. I peeled the sweatband back and if I read the label correctly this is a Hardeman Super Quality Cruiser model.

Love it, Mark. I'm a big fan of the homburg style crown (center dent, no side dents) and it really looks great on that hat.

Another ole rag recently wrested from the Bay. Silver Label Edgelee.
One of two recently nabbed, but the other Silver Label needs some rehab.

Old rag? You jest, it's a real find. Mine is similar, it's bespoke. After your find I dare not say what mine cost. All the same, I love the shape of your "old rag,"and the broad hatband.

Super cool find Tim…. And fabulous recovery! Although maybe you could have started a new tree with the square brim. :D
