From rags to riches: the success story of the Frunoberger!Another day, another rebuild. This one started it's life as a Berger of Hollywood. At least 1940s, and maybe earlier. Even with Mike's (@Redfokker) help I couldn't t corral this one's age. By the time I got my grubby little mitts on it, it was merely a shell of it's former self. Cleaned, reblocked, new sweat/liner, and my second ever sharksgill using vintage blue ribbon. Hence, the Frunoberger.
I almost stopped to take pics in front of a Waffle House, but didn't.

I've been swamped and unable to post much lately, but wanted to take a minute and say how much I REALLY LOVE this hat, Reggie. And you look fantastic wearing it. I'm surprised I haven't seen you wearing it more. Outstanding in every respect. It looks a bit like the current "black" Black Cherry felt Winchester is producing.Good evening. I missed the light again. Optimo “Dearborn” in Oxblood.
Have a great weekend!

Finally decided to tie the knot, huh Bob? Great hat for the celebration!
Looking good, Bob. Maiden journey for both of you
I like the French pronunciationFrom rags to riches: the success story of the Frunoberger!

Sounds so sofisterkated!!

I like that color with the velour finish, picks up the light and shows it off. Nice one Stefan.
Ha....you just like to say Le!!"Le Frunoberjeur" that would be, monsuer.
Yesterday the Frunoberger, today, the Frunoliner. Chosen for the purple ribbon, being the second Sunday of Advent and all.
And of course, because sunshine...

I'm sure the birds were impressed. Wonderful Eric.Minnesota mild winter weather, 19'F, this morning. Filling bird feeders in a lightweight jacket and fedora. Six feeders(various types), squirrel feeder and a couple of suet feeders all needed re-fills. Our outdoor residents have been hungry.
The un-lined Knox Vagabond is very comfy on the head, but I will need a dress weight if I have chores that need me to be outside longer.
Best, Eric -

Great looking hat
Looking good as always Doug. The customs you have made are always very pleasing to the eye. Color combinations, profile, brim length etc.. always look great.
Very nice, Reggie. I like the more straight crown on that hat. The ones Max posted have more taper to them.

Thanks, Tuk. Yes, I should wear it more often. You know how it is. Some hats kind of drop out of the rotation until you open that forgotten box at the bottom of the stack. The Black Cherry is similar and indeed a wonderful color. I always enjoy seeing yours too.
Home run!
