I was wearing a Stetson Bowler this morning but this new to me Salmagundi is on my head this afternoon.

This one is a Stetson Shantung Panama.

5” brim provides shade while our highs are still in the mid 90s. I don’t recall it ever being so hot this close to October.

A lot of bunnies kicked the bucked to create that amount of real estate, Brent. It was for a good cause though.

Borsalino in grey, no indications of color and model. It is a recente production of the Eighties.

As most of the "new" production it is a "Qualità Superiore" a sort of mantra in the Borsalino production of the last forty years

It came from Merano so a "Matthias Hutter" hat. It is pleasant and a sort of "classic" Borsalino in color and shape.

Thanks so much! If I had to get rid of all my hats but one, that's the one I would keep. That bowler was my first ever fur felt hat purchase, and it remains my favorite.

I’m not usually a fan of self-felt hat bands, but this is a hat I’d make an exception for. I truly like everything about this hat.

You know I never entertained the concept or even thought about the differences between self felt hat bands vs. ribbons, so now you have got me thinking: however, Jim’s Game Bird is pretty sweet. It has a smooth dress casual look. Dobbs during that era made some pretty cool hats.

I started off of the same mind.. but after having Dobbs Gay Prince in hand, I changed my mind. Jim’s game bird continues to show how well this look can work.

Kind of a mini Whippet—Royal Stetson, I’m guessing late 50s or early 60s when dimensions were starting to shrink. The brim is 2 3/8 and it was factory creased—I’ve steamed the pinch to be a little taller and narrower. Great hat to wear with a suit, with a nice snappy look. Other than some liner foxing, just about like new.
