Thanks, Randy and @hatsRme
I do like this bowler, but I’ll get rid of all mine, except this one—when y’all get shed of all yours, but one.
I think that makes me fairly safe.
Great looking Imperial, Steve!
Happy IHD!
Guess I need to choose a hat to celebrate with you fellas.
View attachment 301229 Kinda odd to me, but this hard bowler is the most comfortable hat I own.
And the oldest too. A great hat for NHD, I think.
Another funny thing about this bowler is that most bowlers have pretty much the same look, yet of the many I’ve put on it’s the only one that I like, and like a lot.

Good to see you and the Brummel's in action, Steve.Brummel's Fedora on yet another grey day. The sun shone out of a blue sky yesterday. Sadly, I forgot to take a photo of yesterday's hat.
Some great headwear to kick off the New Year fellow Loungers. You've had me drooling.
Have a great week, friends. View attachment 299782 View attachment 299783

Fantastic, Wayne. Shape and finish are exquisite and the bow looks to be a real bow. I'm so going to steal that.German long hair today. Crown sticker simply says Diamant

Thanks, Jonathan. In the end certainly worth the wait, but nerve wracking while the wait was happening.Four months wait worth it, Stefan. That Landasti is just about perfection.
A dynamic Diplomatique, Daniele. Definitely getting plum tones coming across on my screen.
A fitting hat indeed, Randy. You have more snow than here in northern Indiana at the moment.
Snow is expected here today. Won't be much, but it does help get a feel for winter. This was your chance to go sledding by the way, Randy.More of my rare snow pictures. Out this morning in my twin ribbon Phoenix natural.

Looks as good on you as the stingies do, Rick.
Royal Deluxe Open Road for today. This one likes the brim up!
Both very nice, Jeff. but that Wormser has some commanding presence!View attachment 300175 View attachment 300176 View attachment 300177 View attachment 300178 View attachment 300179 View attachment 300180 Two hats yesterday. Resistol Kitten Finish with felted edge for a walk.
switched to a dark black Wormser with sharks gills for my actual disposition.
Wonderful Borsalino, Daniele. The Alessandrians didn't like to take second place to anyone.Good morning and thanks for the appreciations and likes on yesterday's Panizza and no-name bowler. More gems are coming and even some stones that have long rolled on the paths of life.

Today, while I was photographing the remaining hats of the lot, I wore this Borsalino that comes from the excellent discovery in Merano three years ago.
View attachment 300198
It is a massive Lobbia Borsalino, similar to the French "Diplomatique" I wore these days.
View attachment 300206
So for the Homburg & Festivity series a Borsalino Qualità Extra Superiore size 6 1/2 or 60 centimeters or 7 1/2 in the US.
The color of the felt "Rutenio" is one of the innumerable grays used in Borsalino production.
View attachment 300212
The ribbons that adorn it match the color of the felt.
The color is in perfect harmony with the sky which after a flash of shy sun has returned to ruthenium gray.

Happy Tuesday everyone and thank you for your likes on the splendid, in my opinion, Ecuyer & Thomas of saturday.
Beautiful, Michael. I like the crease and the flange on it. Works a treat brim up.Two days with sun in a row. Woohoo. Royal Stetson Open Road for the morning

And a rare case of wearing almost all of the same clothes two days in a row. They were so perfectly suited to yesterday's bike ride that I had to stick with them.

I like everything about that one except its size, Bob.
Breathtaking, Steve.Neuheit Spitzenklasse Extra Fein, mid 1930s. Really fantastic Velour with a very unique liner design.
There is a reed in the liner piping. You can see the exposed reed at the top of liner piping.
Talk about exclusive felts! Not the colour I'd expect from a panda though Looks great, Joe.Lee Silver Label “Panda Felt”

I'm certainly enjoying this series of homburgs. lobbias and diplomatiques, Daniele. Keep them coming.I continue with the series of homburgs during the holidays even if these are now over
View attachment 300725 Today a pretty English homburg branded "Dunn" that has been talked about here these days.
View attachment 300726
It is a classic black with a stable felt and therefore I have given no other shape than to "split" the crown.
View attachment 300727
The weather is sunny and cold and only in the middle hours you can wear hats, then the wool caps become a must.
View attachment 300728
This hat is the result of an exchange with Stefan (Steur) who found it and gave it in exchange for something Italian

Thanks for your likes for the bowlers made by G.B. Borsalino and also for the rolling stones hats produced in Alessandria. Good day everyone and congratulations on your hats

Stetson Nutria Quality - Black ‘Western Derby’
Early 1950s OPS Era
5 1/4 Firm Open Crown
3/8 grosgrain western style ribbon
2 3/4 front 2 1/2 sides brim with pencil curl
I am very pleased and relieved this beautiful hat has finally arrived after being lost in a post office in Tyler, Texas for about the last month. At long last I have finally received this hat that is a Christmas present from my son and came off a well appreciated tip from @BobHufford. I have been really looking forward to it’s arrival and I am ecstatic it has now arrived. Not only am I happy to own my first Nutria Quality... this hat has a styling like no other hat in my collection. I’m sure others could tell me the name of this style hat... but I would describe it is a ‘western derby’. The western style hat features a hard firm derby like open crown that measures about 5 1/4 inches. The pencil curl Brim is dimensional reaching 2 3/4 inches to the curl in front and about 2 1/4 on the sides with no edge binding. In the sellers photos is the original OPS Era price tag stating a selling price of $17 and pinning the dating of this hat to the 1951 to 1953 OPS era. The seller indicated the tag was placed back behind the sweat. However the sweat is getting a bit stiff and brittle from age and on my precursory investigation I have not located it. It’s not worth damaging the old sweat bearing the Stetson Nutria Quality badge with stars shield logo any further so for now I will leave well enough alone. A good brushing out of decades of dirt along with a lint roller really cleaned it up well.. though clearly i missed a bit of pet hair. A little sponge cleaning might fix up some of the remaining dirty spots. Did I mention I’m excited about this one!?!? Thanks again to Bob for this awesome heads up and to my son Riley for this wonderful gift.

A mighty cool hat and some serious provenance! Great.Happy National Hat Day fellow Loungers. Here's my attempt at making it an International Hat Day.
Imperial Stetson made under license in England (Failsworth, Manchester), and sold in the eldest, still in existence hat shops in Denmark (Petitgas, Copenhagen). View attachment 301167

Magnificent, Steve. Unusual colour for a velour. The 1937 year would have been very early in the existence of Nehoefa, which is likely why they used "voorheen" (previously known as) on the envelope.Mayser Velour, mid 1930s. Fantastic Velour plus great looking Bat Wing Bow.
1937 date stamped envelope from a Dutch Mayser distributor (N.V. Hoedenmaatschappij, Bussum). The Mayser logo on the envelope matches the logo on the above hat.
Nothing wrong with that. Great collage.I enjoyed this Stetson Nutria Quality so much I couldn’t resist wearing it for a second day in a row!
