I'm waiting for a bit of sunshine or at least lighter skies to be able to post some hats I recently acquired from Panos @PanosChris.
In the meantime, I'll post this fluffy, green giant of a Fléchet. It's definitely not a stingy. I'm sure I'll never dare to wear it outdoors. Well, maybe on St. Patrick's Day :)
Like it's previous owner in Oslo, I can't stop petting this one. View attachment 290576 View attachment 290577 View attachment 290578 View attachment 290579

Thanks, Jim. I'll certainly try once I dare. I hope Joao will be proud of me ;-)

I should also mention that's a beautiful hat, Steve. Please tell me you'll wear it out at least once, and not just on March 17.

On the fifth day of Stingymas, my true love gave to me (or more accurately, let me have, but I digress)... Five Stingy Back Bows

Oh darn, I only have 4 of this style! Have to remedy that soon. I do have an affinity for these late 1950s slim brim hats. I like that they can be dated to the period 1955-1959. The list includes, two Lee hats, a brown Jet model and gray Smart Lee. A Stetson Royal Deluxe pork pie style, and a Mallory Aristocrat. Since all major makers produced this style in the late 50s a suitable Portis, Knox or Dobbs should not be hard to find. The five golden rings!

I thought bird busting was done for the year. But an African grey flew out a door this afternoon. Walking around in the freezing cold for a few hours searching for a strangers bird. Oh well, I can think of worse things to do with my day.

Thanks Jim. I have no ideas where the "Alexander" was made, but it seems far from English manufacturers. If you have some pictures of the Alexander US made please show, so I can make a confontation

Daniele, here is the thread on Alexander Hats. https://www.thefedoralounge.com/threads/alexander-hats.54488/page-2

Because of the different logo imprint on the sweatband, yours is likely not affiliated with this brand from Reading, Pennsylvania. But you never know!

The theme, considering yesterday's success, is green hats with all due respect to Stefan:)

Today, on a warm day for the period and somewhat changeable, I chose a Borsalino for the walk to the studio
Vinca Norsa 1.jpg

Borsalino Qualità Superiore size 6 or 59 cm. equivalent to a 7 3/8 in the US. The hat was produced before 1981 and has a very forestry "Vinca" felt and a ribbon and brim in a green to match the color of the felt
Vinca Norsa 8.jpg

This is soft and malleable with a light weight and wearable today for the contained cold
Vinca Norsa 3.jpg
A perfect hat for my head, because you know Borsalino sizes are always a lottery.
Thanks for your yesterday likes regarding the Alexander Sport which, upon careful examination of the brand's mold, looks like a camouflaged Barbisio.

Thanks to Frunobulax for sending me the link of the Alexander hats made in the US and I saw there is no relationship with mine.
Good Friday
