Then bring home one of these. Just like the one I had when I got married and was soon “coaxed” into getting rid of. 25 years and 5 kids later I said “oh yes I am”. 3 more vintage bikes found their way to me since then. You need one anyway to go with your leather jackets I’ve seen on the other side of the FL. All fedora/hat guys need to spend some time on the leather jacket threads to see what addiction really looks like. Trucks and puppies will be a piece of cake after the bike.

If I came home with one of those I'd definitely be in the doghouse!

I have been away from the forum for a few days. Have been involved with our daughter's wedding which took place yesterday. Anyway, I'm back now. Today was a Supernatural from the Ecuadorian Panama Hat Company.

Looking sharp as usual, Bill. Congrats on the wedding!

I would love to see more pictures of your Yeddo.

Here's a slightly different angle from today and a few staged shots:

A couple more pics and specs can be found in the Boater faction thread.

Congrats to your daughter and the entire family!

Love the tall crown on that one Bill -- great hat.

Adam Mainliner Silverbelly

When my 60s Dobbs Westward Silverbelly showed up last week I immediately drew comparisons in my mind to my late 1960s Adam Mainliner. So I decided I would pull that one out and see how these two OR/Strat clones match up. Man are these two hats similar. The dimensions As you might expect are almost identical with 2 1/2 brims and around 5 inch crowns as shaped. Both with 3/8 thin Grosgrain ribbons and matching 1/8 binding. The Dobbs is ever so slightly more tan in color and it does have a thicker sweatband. Comparing the felt. The Dobbs is a bit thicker and more dense whereas the Adam felt is thinner and shapes a tad bit easier. My guess is the Dobbs May have been a bit of a ‘higher Level’ hat in comparison to this Adam as the Dobbs does have a wind trolley. Though for me I think I prefer the softer crown of the Adam even though the Dobbs May be a slightly ‘better quality’ felt. I Like the blockier look on the Adam crown. However all and all it’s splitting hairs. Separately you would not go wrong with either of these.

Nice comparison, Joe. Not much between them by the looks of it. On the surface the Adam seems to have a finer finish.

Mayser "Spezial" possibly just post WWII or early 1940s.

This address was listed in the 1939 Gelsenkirchen City Address Book. The shop moved to a new location post WWII.

Classic in every way, Steve. My favourite colour combination; gorgeous.

Longest read I have ever accomplished except for the 3,000 page, 1.3 million word trilogy of the Civil War by Shelby Foote.

Still too hot for anything but hemp when I went out before dark to pick up a half gallon bucket of Irish beef stew curbside. A bucket should last me a couple of days.

Unfortunately this bottle of Connemara Peated Single Malt Irish Whiskey didn't.

That's not exactly encouraging; I'll need more than the one glass of whiskey (or bottle) to get me through that!:)
The brim up works well for that straw by the way, Jack.

A Baku for Sunday go to meeting

Cool looking hat. Quite rare these hats, I believe. Hardly ever see one (make that never).

A little dressin' up for Sunday go-to-meeting because I don't wear this one near enough. My first custom.

You're right: it deserves better!

View attachment 249884 Y’all might remember the times I bemoaned the want and lack of a Dobbs Hanover Square.
Well, a few weeks back I won one from eBay. It was a very clean late 50s model in the ubiquitous colors of gray and black. Also, the crown was a bit squatty for my taste, so I reluctantly resold it making only a few bucks.
The very next week I was blessed to nab another, yet cheaper, late 50s Hanover, except this time with more interesting colors and a taller, prouder crown making me one very Squared away dude. View attachment 249883 View attachment 249885
Always good to see another one. They are beautiful hats. Nice find, Randall.

Very nice, Michael. I like the straightforward design of that one.
