What was supposed to be a quick late night milk run before the rain arrived turned into a marathon after I discovered I left my wallet at home when it came time to pay at the checkout. Penney's Marathon:

The flat brimmed hat thread inspired me. Here is my Smithbilt Scout hat. My only wool hat I still own. Not bad felt, it just got soft over a few rainy scout camps. May hit it with starch like they used to do in the old days. Hat band needs fixed/replaced as well. Looks like it was just glued on. Oh well. Another hat project.

Bob Dong Wabash Newsboy today. Went swimming in the rain.

This from Heddles:
To a modern eye, a wabash might seem overly formal – like a pinstripe – but in reality, this fabric was, alongside denim, worn almost exclusively as workwear. Forty years before the first pair of Levi’s jeans were made, J.L. Stiefl & Sons of West Virginia were making their “Indigo Wabash Stripe.” Before Stiefl began making this fabric, the tribes of the Wabash Confederacy had made a name for making intricate, decorative patterns and selling these to white workmen, thus establishing the connection between the beautiful, hard-wearing garments and the Wabash peoples.

Out getting some sun with my Lee pants pocket ‘Santa Fe’. For some reason I really like this hat, it’s a nice thin felt with a decent width brim. Oh and I paired it with a 1940’s multifaceted onyx ring, that’s really out of this hat’s league. Cheers

I love onyx rings and have worn one for over 45 years; however, I like the hat better (no offense).

What do you mean by "pants pocket?"
