The vueltas are the seam-like concentric circles within the top of the crown; the more the merrier. Eleven is a good amount.

I dressed for a Father's Day Brunch on my lanai. My new Tawny Stetsonian goes well with my GW A-2. Of all the modern open crown Stetsons I have purchased I really like the felt on the Excellent Quality Pure Beaver New York, but I think I like the shape of this Stestonian the best. The felt feels a little rough, but it is thin, pliable, and easily takes a dry bash. Nice high crown, and wide brim. The Brim on my Tokyo Whippet is even wider, and the felt is nice and soft, but a bit thicker, and the crown is not as high as the Stetsonian.
Of course a leather jacket and fur felt hat are just what I need to round out my tropical outfit.

I remember side-by-side photos of old vs. more current production vueltas posted, Max. The difference was dramatic. The one in Alan’s photo are super examples of fine vintage craftsmanship.

Hückel Weilheim "Chamois", possibly later 1950s. The fawn colored felt is lighter weight and easily dry creases.

Hückel Weilheim "Chamois" models most likely came from the factory with color coordinated small feathers.

Hückel Weilheim Hat Boxes, made by Zeitler - Karton, Murnau / Oberbayern possibly early to later 1950s. The company moved to Murnau in 1949 and are still in business today.
