Today, Da Boss
Nice one Joe. I have a Lee Water Bloc too, it’s a 2 ounce hat. Looks really old. Reedless sweat. I wish it had the brim yours has! Great color too.30 Days to 30 Hats - Day 23

A with the Mallory yesterday... This hat is second of two hats I have that belonged to a man who was a Police Chief in Poland during WWII. He was a holocaust survivor and hero who helped 100s escape occupied Poland.
This one I reshaped from what I think was his preferred pork pie style crown to a more traditional fedora style

Thanks Perry. The jacket is Harris Tweed and the tie a Pendleton. Both served well on a long bike ride today. I did trade a union made herringbone cap for the Dobbs.Great plaids and hat combo Michael. All you need is a kilt!
Thanks Stefan. I'll agree with the top 10 ranking. May be top two or three for felt quality.Another top ten hat, Michael.
"Men must have more hats": rules to live by!
Two more good ones. Are we going to have a bonus French week as well?French week day four (pardon: quatre)

Golly jeez.
Wow great job Randall. Looks tremendousView attachment 230183 #24 Gonna post early again because tomorrow I’ll be busy, busy, busy.
This is a super thick, heavy, dense felted hat by Flechet in the 50s. It was a burg with stained and tattered ribbon binding. It’s cheap buy it now price made for a great candidate for remodeling. Unfortunately, the liner was wasted, but oddly, the leather sweat was in tip top condition. Flechet used fine materials and it was put together very well. Better than most. Not sure if it was built in the US, but it probably was considering the US sizing and writing on the single sticker inside. Sold in a store in Tampa: Joe Blare country, sorta. View attachment 230188
I’ve been wanting to find a hat that I could sew a 30s styled jaunty bow on and this one was perfect. The Petersham grosgrain and it’s light green color just works.
I used a tan 7/8 ribbon for binding, but it was too bright so I subdued it just a little with grey Rit die.
Desired to do something different with the shape of this hat, yet keep a 30s vibe , so I went with two high side dents. View attachment 230189 View attachment 230190 View attachment 230191
