Beginning the trek to Wenatchee WA this morning to attend a memorial service for Patty's Grandpa, Jim Merlin. He passed on December 26th at the age of 102. It will be a true celebration of his life. Snow in Portland and the Columbia Gorge, but should not be too bad. I'll honor Grandpa with my navy blue longhair custom from NW Hats in Eugene, and will take along a 1950s Knox Premier Stratoliner clone (the Knox-o-Liner!) fedora for daily wear around town. I'll try to post some snow pictures, it will be bitterly cold in northern Washington.

Beautiful custom and great bow ! Nice Strat Clone too, you will be very well dressed for the occasion. Too bad the trip is a somber one, but I guess since you said it will be a celebration of his life you can turn it into a happy one ! Have a safe trip.

My condolences for your loss of Grandpa Jim. 102 certainly calls for a celebration of life!

Two great hats, but navy and gills...oh my!

I love the San Antonio, Michael.
How many stunning fur collar coats do you have?

That’s such a nice homburg. The colors and dimensions look perfect on you.

Thank you, Brent. I acquired this one via Stefan. It's the "twin" of the Knox Superfine Homburg I acquired from you. This one is a more fawn brown compared to your darker shade of brown. This one looks good with pinches. The one from you, better without pinches in my opinion.

Could have been made especially for the dealer, which was a shop of some renown in Amsterdam. Here's a picture of it back then. Apparently Brummel's hats was an important brand for them.

This is what it looks like today. Chipsy King XL. Really?

Super photos, Stefan. I'm going out on a limb here, but it looked better back then [emoji6]
