It's the perfect autumn day here for this late 20s/early 30s Samuel Mortlock and son Lord's hat. It's a real joy to wear.

Now there's a hat you don't see every day. Came in from Italy did it? Nice suit too, Steve.

Back under the new Sixteen Fifty for now. I gave it a bit of a steam and brush this morning.

I tried to stay away from temptations, but the other day we were, Steve and I, in Merano by the current owners of the hats sold in the shop (now closed) "M. Hutter".

I did not bring enough money to buy hats, but then I suddenly became a sinner

Borsalino "Uranio" Qualità Extra Superiore. Size 6 1/2

The shapes and proportions are related to Italian hats made in the sixties

Felt is soft and very malleable. What I particularly like is the tone-on-tone ribbon that is, for me, the plus of this Borsalino

Happy Friday everyone
See you in the next days for the next sins
Sometimes you just have to save a hat. This one is certainly worth saving. I'll confess my sins later, brother Daniele!

I got this weeks' Dobbs memo a bit late and saw quite a few different game birds flying around. Here's mine.

Hey folks!
I just found out from Lounger Peacoat over in the Outerwear section that my recently acquired 80's issue Jay Dee Sportswear peacoat is an uncommon Officer's version called a Reefer. So, in 80's fashion, I am mixing my Reefer with Coke.:D
Warburton by Schoble.

Thanks, Perry. You're too kind.

Thanks, Stefan. Yes indeed, it came in via Daniele via London originally.

There always is, Stefan, there always is. Just stop tempting me! Only kidding, please don't [emoji4]
As Oscar Wilde said, I can resist everything, except temptation [emoji6]

Stefan, the hats, the suit jackets, the ties, the pocket squares, the coats, the scarves, (not to mention the beard), where to start my friend. Superb all the way round.

Thanks for the high praise, Steve. You're making me blush.
I recognized the Mortlock, because it started it's second life with me and was part of one of out hat-trades. I think it was too small for Daniele.
As a teaser, let's say I didn't just fall off the wagon, but the wagon landed upside down in a ditch... I'll take pictures of the debris tomorrow (good looking debris it is too).

Reefer and coke, eh? A winning combination I'd say.

I like that hard felt and soft felt combo. But I think your Reefer is from a 1974 contract.

Thanks all,
Michael

I'd be satisfied with your downhill shopping days, Michael. They look good to me?
