The clouds opened up at the end of the road just long enough to get a good view of the Nā Pali coast.

Crofut and Knapp stingy brim for Christmas lights duty today.

Not all stingies are created equally... while this ones brim is only about 1.5 inches... it sports a Cavanagh edge on its trim and a wind trolley.

He literally gave it to me so I could try my hand at making this hat look like a few of his and @Bama’s westerns.
I think I got ‘em! What do y’all think?
You know what they say about imitation being the best form of flattery.
I’ve been looking for a hat that would work as a foundation to copy “the look” and Randy helped me out.
It will always remain my favorite hat.
It was my size(1/4), but I still had to stretch it to my egg shaped head and it took me several hours at the steam pot, but I finally got ‘er the way I want ‘er. She’s a beaut!
Randy is a true gentleman’s gentleman.
I had to re-stretch a few other hats as well.
It takes a few times in the stretcher to get a hat to hold the size you want and you don’t want to be doing it all at one time anyway.
Also bought a forties, wide brim, dove gray Mallory From eBay yesterday. Can’t wait for it to get here! Most I’ve ever spent in a hat!
I told Randy if it wasn’t for the hat he gave me, I wouldn’t have been able to spend the money on this one, so he essentially provided me with two hats!
Well, he didn’t ask, or expect it, but I will try to return him a few favors in the future.
Love the Lounge and the guys who occupy it!

Good, I'm glad it arrived safely. Looks like you were able to mold it a bit more toward the Carlsbad crease. It suits you well and I hope can enjoy it for many years to come.
