Two hat Friday. Earlier in the day, the firm green felt, wide ribboned, back bow Battersby. Later in the evening, the very soft, velvety, Tonak Antelope. Scorsese has his Irishman. I have the Dutchman [emoji4]

Now that's worthy of Fat Ribbon Friday!

Crofut and Knapp stingy brim for Christmas lights duty today.

Not all stingies are created equally... while this ones brim is only about 1.5 inches... it sports a Cavanagh edge on its trim and a wind trolley.

Will that generate enough lift to need a trolley? :D

HAHA. Very good point... but if you are Crofut and Knapp in the late 60’s or maybe later... what else ya got to go after the premium market in a short brim era. Here’s an idea... sew in the liner... NOPE... glue. LOL

Best,
Joe

Good luck fighting off the first stages Michael. It’s the last stages that worry me.
Love the OR color. Not a common one.

I agree, it doesn't seem to be a common color. And it doesn't seem to agree on what color it wants to be. Some days it's grey, some days it's olive, some days it's steel.

Not good news about the flu, Michael. Hope you get well soon.

Thanks for the good wishes guys. I've been spending the day lying low. Hopefully that will work.

Thanks all,
Michael

Sounds like a good time to do some hat maintenance [emoji1]

Yesterday I showed an Italian heather felt, so I decided to continue with the proposal of "special" felts, no longer produced by the hat industry
View attachment 199514
Flechet (French made) size 59 or 7 3/8 US, new, finished at eighty percent, lining and paper label missing. Everything else is in its place, even the stamps on the sweatband
where it was to be sold, in this case Berlin

The felt is soft and very malleable as befits a "heather". The ribbon is in harmony with the deep gray color with light gray shades

It is part of a lot bought last year in France that I will show you these days

Thanks a lot for your likes!
Have a nice day!
Great ribbon work on that one! The texture really plays well with the felt

Not quite, lol.....But it was a gentleman on a top hat who wasn't happy when we didn't want to attend the sex show he was promoting, lol....

I have never heard so many curse words in a row my entire life, and never thought I would hear an "English" man lose his accent.

I have to actually tell the story to get the whole flavor of it. I have to say, it was one of the most funniest things that has happened to me overseas, and I clocked over 7 million flying miles all over the world. That's lots of countries, every continent more than five times, and lots of cities[emoji1][emoji1][emoji1], but this incident was in my top five.

I can sort of mentally picture how that must have gone down:).

With considerable delay, the cold arrived after a very long fall outside the norm.
We went two degrees below zero tonight. In the middle of the day it was pretty good

Cervo Loden, a recent arrival, is the hat of the day
View attachment 199274
The felt, marked Super Bantam, finished with a medium fur is certainly a mixture because in its surfacethree colors are present: majority green, straw color and some red hints
View attachment 199275
The hat is antique with the paper label written completely by hand, it is unlined, only with a patch in the crown

One of the best 2019 purchase in my list of "new" hats

Thanks for the likes and kind words for the Habig and the model too :)
Have a nice day and compliments for your daily hats parade!
I usually see Cervo hats with small proportions, which I don't much care for. This one does everything right (well, except for the green maybe;)).
