A best Dressed Head cap went to the cobbler this morning to pick up some shoes.

Many lean towards a particular Stetson model as the quintessential vintage fedora... I think the Dobbs Cross Country can whip it with its ribbon tied behind its back.

Agreed!

I am fortunate to have such a hat. The Dobbs Cross Country on my hat rack is truly a prized lightweight hat. I picture it not as a quintessential, but prototypical of the lightweight fedora category. Truly stereotypical of warm weather felt. A classic Dobbs model. A consummate un-lined felt. ( This is fun!) ;):p

Thanks for sharing your prized hat sir.

No groans here.
I’ll add an unlined Knox Vagabond to that category as well.

One of the nice things about working the gubmint schedule is getting holidays many others don't. So I'm into the third day of my weekend. Thanks to Ol' Chris, I got the car washed and made the penultimate trip around the yard with the Husqvarna, all while sleeping in (I made it to almost 7:30!).

So, off to pick up a six-pack of local brew in my only Italian hat, a Borsalino Ludeola. And a shirt honoring a great Italian-American composer.

J. Hückel´s Söhne Standard "Loden", with Back Bow possibly late 1930s early 1940s. This hat is from my May 2016 NOS Czech find.

Wow! Steve, fantastic, gorgeous hat. Is that a Homburg with a back bow? Or a hybrid Homburg / Fedora?

Count another Hanover Square for this Tuesday. Classic grey with black ribbon. Not as cool as the color combos on Michael's and Stefan's HS examples, but still a fine hat with classic proportions.

Steve, Thank you! I am fairly certain it would have been worn brim up but the over welt brim is not rigid. It doesn't have the characteristics of what I consider a Homburg style hat. In the time period + place would probably be describe as a Fashion Hat.
