Interesting hat. I’d love to hear the story behind that one.

View attachment 187924 Another visit to my chiropractor, then lunch and a movie. The Good Boys is actually kind of funny. I wore my Cordova cap for a cool morning and a cool-ish, sunny fall day.

Then stopped by an antique store and saw some hats...
That sounds like a great afternoon, Doug. Your dual selfie made me smile. It reminded me of How Vicki and I look leaning in to FaceTime with the kids and grandkids.

Texas Hatters called, my Lonestar Dude hatband was ready for pickup. What a cool birthday present to myself. lol

Happy belated, Ken!
I've been a**holes and elbows lately trying to get things done before the calendar stops me, so my Lounge time has been constrained. I hope that lovely brunch and great hatband were the low points of your birthday!

I think there is some sort of mushroom foray this afternoon. May have to rethink my hat choice for that.

Today's black hat for the theater will be a 1930s Mallory Derby. This one doesn't see enough head time. It just screams wear me everyday. Nice thin brim with a tight curl makes the lines of this stiff felt shine. This matinee will complete the second marathon weekend of Mama Mia. Thursday through Sunday performances, really takes a lot out of me, but I have to remember my actors are working much harder than I. The pins in my hand have an infection going on, which is kind of gross. The Doctor gave me some heavy duty antibiotics which seem to be working. The will yank out the pins on Oct 15th. Literally, YANK them out, not exactly looking forward to this (I'm such a baby...) Looking forward to a couple of days rest before closing weekend coming.
Impeccable Mallory Derby. Sorry to hear about the pins.

Very nice looking hat, H&R. Should make you look happier than the pics show...
I've let a lot of things go around the homestead for a while, Stefan. My storage spaces got quite out of control. If it was one, it would not be a big deal. It was all of them. Getting things in order is requiring that I drag everything out of everywhere, and it's been a bit stressful.
Thank you though for the encouragement to smile and take time for a bit of joy. It helps.

Cloudy Sunday in Verona

Before lunch at a friend's house I was on the terrace watching the colors of the trees change

S.C.M. Qualità Superiore pesco, color blue, size 59 or 7 3/8 US said the paper label

I have other hats marked "Superiore" in gold on a white lining, one comes from the Borsalino boutique in the center of Milan, this from a small town on the plain, but I really don't know the maker.
View attachment 188045
I believe it was made in Monza, north of Milan for many details. The felt is very beautiful: soft and with a peachy touch as specified in the quality. "Lepre Garantita" (guaranteed hare) is printed clearly on the sweatband

The lunch was dedicated to a autumn specialty: "tortelli di zucca" (pumpkin ravioli) with Chianti, we betrayed the Veronese wines
Have a nice Sunday. Thanks a lot for likes on the Penumbra work!
You make me smile, Danieli.
Much better than watching paint dry.

Excellent, J.
Do you hear lions growl when you're in there with the door closed?

Thanks H&R

The wallpaper in the spare washroom and my office is quite polarizing people either love it or hate it.

It's a knock off ( I actually liked the banana leaf pattern better on this one ) of the iconic wallpaper from the beverly hills hotel. On top of it all I'm a bit of a design nerd.

Easy to make a bowler look good when one has a beard of the same color. I envy you the beard more than the hat, though. My mother's brothers were of Scandinavian descent, but couldn't grow a beard either. I thought Vikings were supposed to have abundant beards, but not my ancestors. [emoji35]

I have Swedish roots on my maternal side, so I don't think your Scandinavian theory holds up. It's definitely the Midwest winters. Toughens you up, builds character. ;)

I'm also prepared for future beard and bowler (derby) coordination:

It was a wise nod to the B-17, Jonathan. Didn't that jacket used to be in Starsky and Hutch [emoji6]? Love it.
I'm too white to be Huggy Bear, though I do have that furry Dobbs:

Pretty sure I still have some turtlenecks packed away in storage. Now I just need @Garrett's pimp chain to complete the look. Hmm...maybe I'll hit up the pawn shops this week.

Plan B would be to get a Gran Torino.

Very cool, Jonathan. Goes well with the coat.

Thanks, Stefan. I almost grabbed the Gorasgu but had to spread the love to the B-17.
