Nice! I can't wait to see that Penman.

I gotta win the lottery, get a second job or maybe sell a kidney so I can get some modern customs made. There are so many great talented artists out there and, like you, my fevered hat brain has lots of ideas for the JUST EXACTLY PERFECT hat. Settling on the final pick must be very hard though.
Honestly, as much as I love a good custom, they have nothing over a grand old hat from yesteryear in terms of felt and ease of crease. That Cavanagh is stunningly sweet, especially at well under $100.

Now that's what I'm talking about!
Love it!
Thank you so much, Esther.

As an aside, we watched a movie on Netflix last night about the Nazi occupation in Belgium. We both thought about how impossibly hard that must have been; something we have been blessed to not have had to experience in our lives. What a brutal conundrum to be forced to choose between trying to survive death at the hands of the Nazis or, later, to be scourged by your fellow countrymen as a traitor. My heart breaks at the thought of being forced to make a decision like that.

Thanks Charlie. I'm going to have to show my wife and son the "decorum" part of your comment. I suspect that they might get a laugh. In addition to hats, I have the tendency to frequently wear jackassery. [emoji6]

Well, whatever you're calling it, nobody does it better, more elegantly, or with more panache!

Rockin' the CD, Harv!

And here's to the Return of the Harv-eye! (Wouldn't that make a great name for a movie?!!)

When I grabbed this Premier Knox Madison Avenue this morning, I had not yet seen Mr. and Mrs. FedOregons' post. For whatever reason (maybe 'cause we had our first Virginia Beach freeze of the season last night) , I gravitated towards blue grey today. Happy Sunday, everybody.

Be well... Be kind... Have fun!
Sweet!

I don't know the reasons for the difference, Don, and so I'm guessing it's just a style touch. Your suggestion about the XLO factor may be right, but only for those of us with that curse?
Now we have something else to obsess and wonder about, though, and that's good. Thanks!
Western hats are often made that way so the sides can be rolled but leaving the brim width to look uniform.

May I ask what movie?
I know quite a bit about this time in history. One of my interests.
I have delved into my family's stories and have been fortunate to have found out as much as I have.
It has always been something one did not talk about.
My family has been through a lot, as have all other here around my part of the world during that period in time.

Late entry today.
