Fine looking hat, Fusion; nice bow and cool work to the edge of the brim. Does that stitching have any practical purpose ( or did it once upon a time ), or is it simply ornamental?

The stitching is for the edge binding that is difficult to see in that picture. Here's another picture that shows the binding...
OK, here's yesterday's hat, a Mallory (for Youthful Smartness! ) Stratoliner clone. One of my favorites this winter, and yes, I do wear it with a black leather overcoat and a charcoal grey overcoat (for whomever it was that was asking about wearing brown hats with black coats.)
And here's today's choice, a Courtney Hats wide-brimmed black hat with a red and black ribbon... and a few different facial expressions!
