Wearing my whiskey VS Tucker today, as we've gotten extremely lucky with a cooler front; normally by mid-March, sometimes late February, we're already sweltering in sticky warmth. After wearing the Tucker last week and catching a glimpse in a clothing store mirror of how high the rear part of the crown was, I've reshaped it into a teardrop/c-crown with some rake and a good-sized dome to accommodate my head.

Newly arrived but not new to the F'Lounge. Some sun today so the color is actually quite accurate for a change.

That hat is gorgeous, Robert!! It looks extremely soft and plush. It looks great on you. :eusa_clap:eusa_clap

Thanks Josh. The back is just over 3 3/4" almost the same as I did on that Roadmaster that I re-creased.
When I took it to open crown using my hatshaper, it measured just at 5 1/4".
I am thinking seriously of sending the new one off to a hatter to see if he can re-block & re-flange to get to a 5 1/2" open crown.
That one measures between 2 5/8" & 2 3/4" for the brim, so I could end up with a brim close to 2 1/2".

That would be really interesting to see if a hatter could do something with the felt and make it look more like a Strat should be. I think proportionally, a 5 1/2 inch crown and 2 1/2 inch brim would look really nice. Especially with a nice straight block. I would want mine done in a 52 block, but thats just because I like those really straight flat top 30's crowns. If you decide to go through with it, I would really like to see how it turns out. Good luck!

Josh, those are the specs of a vintage Strat I have. I also have one with a 2 3/4" brim. Both have 5 1/2" open crowns.
I'll keep you posted if I go for it. Thanks..

Today, it would be my old Texas Department of Corrections Resistol. I often wear it days that I'm scheduled to go to court. I believe it helps place me the proper state of mind for dealing with defendants and their attorneys.

Cool hat, Atticus. I am wearing my Lee Trail I traded for with a fellow lounger and then sent to Parker to resize and put in a new sweatband for me.

That's a beauty of a hat, Atticus-- but from your username I would've pegged you as a public defender!

You're among the few Eastern guys who seem able to wear successfully a Western hat. Of course it helps with the right hat, which that one is. Tempts me to try one sometime, but I'm cautious. Would need a right hat to pull it off.

Can't do it every day. I was off to finish my taxes today... that helped with the attitude.
