The red and black logo is not rare, but not seen too often, either. Looks like you have a couple of great hats coming!

Well now... made a couple "or best offer " bids a couple days ago was counting down the time to the end.... wound up winning both hats! One a nice looking "Excellent Quality" Stetson Bowler ( cant see the size tag so not sure how old this one is or isnt) crossing the fingers. The other is a decent looking "not exactly modern" Royal Deluxe Open Road. Keyhole size tag but no wind cord so Im guessing 60's/70s maybe? No liner so I ordered some new replacement liners ( have a couple other hats that could use new liners too... it was time to stock up!)

Now I get to wait and check the tracking 10 times a day to see where my hats go and how long they take to get here (hoping they arrive in a box and not a bag lol)

I think you're right, I found those same vents on a 1904 army campaign hat(as well as the 3x stitching on the brim) View attachment 716490 ... so maybe it's an older replica.
Ive been of the opinion that if they thought there was a market for something, then JB Stetson made it. With the tag and the fact that by ww1 the "NEW" campaign hat style was issued, Im guessing it very well could be a later replica release... ( maybe a special oeder for Spanish American war veteran events) still way cool withe punched vent holes. Cant quite tell from the pic but does it have the older pointy campaign ribbon bow, or is it a newer style " square bow"?

It looks like the square one to me, but I love the vents... the only reason I purchased it.

Ive seen the star vents on these and some diamond shaped vent holes on a few Akubras. Usually the "points" and the center are slightly bigger holes with smaller holes in the rest of the field. Have thought about doing some on a hat for grins... they are cool. I dont have a leather punch small enough but Ive done a bit of testing with a dremel tool and 1/6" and 1/8" drill bits on brim trimmings. works well on a fairly stiff fur felt. Just havent gotten brave enough to start drilling on a good hat. Someday it will happen. Im betting the originals were done with a custom stamp that had all the holes on one tool... one whack and they were done with no issue keeping the alignment straight.
