Nice ones, Mike. I keep looking for a Maclachlan.
Thanks a lot. That's the first decent-looking Maclachlan I've seen for sale with a somewhat wide brim. Hope I'm not disappointed with it. It might be at the bottom of the Maclachlan quality ladder, not sure, but it was by no means an inexpensively priced hat. I stumbled across it late last night and it was an impulse purchase. It looked good enough that I was afraid if I didn't act, someone else would grab it. Didn't dawn on me at the time, but it was sold by another Lounge member.

About 1930's Western style hat, unknown maker. 3 3/4 inch brim and 6 1/2 inch open crown. Another one to salvage. Needs new sweatband and cleaning. It's pretty nasty now. It was sitting in Albuquerque, NM in these photos.

1950's Knox Twenty. Said to be olive green. Has regular Knox HCA mfg tag but also the more uncommon HCA tag. One tag says 6 7/8 and the other says 7 and a fraction. It has a nice Cavanagh Edge and for $25 I couldn't resist.

I'm just wondering if there was possibly a European company of the same name, but I'm getting ahead of myself.
You're on the ball Jim. This Dalton was apparently established in London in 1880.

To paraphrase Star Trek: it's a Dalton Jim, but not as we know it.

I couldn't find anything about this company. Perhaps they were more sellers of hats than makers.

Døring was a well known fur and hat shop in Danmark's 3rd largest town, Odense. It was established in 1860, and was still going strong some 100 years later. Here's a photo of Peter Døring, son of the stores second owner, from 1960.

I guess I'm still looking for my first Dalton of Yonkers hat.

Looks like a nice hat either way.
