Cool. Nice find. Two O'Farrells for $13? Sure! Possibly from before the Glenn family involvement as they have the earlier sweat band markings.

Cool. Nice find.
I can't seem to resist the urge to rescue some hats. This unknown brand fedora said to be late 1890's.
Wow! Thanks, Bob!

The seller said that 10 plus years ago, they bought a lot of 6 new old stock (NOS) hats from the Greentree store inventory, which all of his unsold stock had been in storage for over 100 years.

This 1900 newspaper article was included in the seller's description of this hat I bought. Says Greentree was planning on closing his store in March 1900. I see you've found that it was 1903 when he finally was able to sell his business. The seller said that 10 plus years ago, they bought a lot of 6 new old stock (NOS) hats from the Greentree store inventory, which all of his unsold stock had been in storage for over 100 years. So my hat was 1 of those 6 hats that had been in storage all those years, if the seller's story is taken at face value.
Quite a haul! My mother used to take me to Altman’s when I was a kid—the building still stands.
