I felt the same way. I saw the colors, and the cross hatch weave and thought, that'll make a great cap!

I've been searching for a hat to fit certain requirements for the better part of a year now. I'm a fairly patient guy, so I'm sticking to my list of needs: Rainstorm Proof (not negotiable), > 2.5" bound brim, open crown, black or very dark gray.

I had my eye on an Akubra Bushman in black from a place in Nashville, but their price for the exclusive color option was kind of nuts. And maybe stark black is not such a good idea, because I know how difficult it can be to keep clean.

The Akubra Squatter comes in Carbon Grey, so I checked-in with Trudi and Naomi at The Hattery. The Squatter is back-ordered in my size, and they'll notify me when it is available. I've seen other Loungers' pics of the Squatter, and I think it might do the trick, so the wait begins.
