Very nice looking homburg. Several makers did the narrow brim binding. I have a Saks hat and believe that one was made by Knox. Also a narrow brim binding.

I ordered a Stetson Stratoliner in silverbelly today from one2miniranch. The Stratoliner was the first hat that caught my eye so if it’s half as good as my Akubras I will be pleased.

I ordered a Stetson Royal Deluxe Whippet in caribou two days ago. It shipped yesterday and it will not only be my first whippet but it will be the first time that I have purchased a brand new hat from Stetson. Of course I was hoping to find a vintage one but that has been a bit of a challenge so I thought I would just grab a new one, wear it, love it and go from there.

This is the only thing under the sweat band but it looks like Knox to me given by your photos.

Pardon the second picture with the flash glare but there was something written on it in red ink which was driving me crazy.
It must be some secret manufacturer's code, maybe some Lexol will bring it to the surface and then out in the sunlight I can see it.

Thanks, Randy. It doesn't get much wear to be honest (none at all really). The pics don't show it, but it does have quite a bit of taper and the proportions make it look like a 19th century hat.

My first calls are to the outlets and then to One 2 Mini Ranch. JJ’s and other often run significant sales that make them more appealing, but even when on sale they don’t always beat the prices at One2miniranch.
