Here is the actual color of the Western hat when it arrived. Not orange at all. The camera must have been playing tricks with the white balance. And it sure is tall!

Up in this neck of the woods we call that going the full Nanaimo....after the late long standing mayor of that town. He sported that look, various colours but always white belt and white patent shoes.

He just may have as his big claim to fame was the originator of the annual bath tub race across the straight to Vancouver. In its heyday it was a big deal. I think his knickname was The Commodore
