Without doing some more digging I would concur with the 50s. The hat block depth is still included in the factory tag, and the dimension fits with the timeframe. Great find!

EDIT: Did a little more digging and now thinking possibly 40s. The factory tags in the 50s included the words "oval", "block", and "size" along the bottom whereas yours doesn't.

You should be able to count on the mfg tag having the correct size. Looks like it is going to be a great hat.

Won a few hatbands at auction. They just happened to come with hats in my size and a couple of stretchers. All for what I would have paid for just the vintage silver band alone. One of those hats had a lot of 'X's...

This is probably a jumping hat because it got out from Idaho and appeared on Utah, Nebraska and Minnesota. Probably will check out on Kentucky to make the giant leap over a lil pond.
Finally found a black grizzly. Its not vintage... but it will probably do.

Was that homburg listed by he seller who had a Mallory in 7 5/8 for sale at the same time? I held off bidding on the Stetson hoping to get the Mallory but then at the end it went over my cap and by then I had missed the St. Regis.

Good looking hats in any case!
