I think it looks fantastic, and can’t wait to see it.Will post more pictures next week.
Yeah can’t wait until I put it on!Great looking hat. I like the balance between having some contrast but not too much. Whippets can come off clownish at times but yours is spot-on. Tim is really putting out some great hats. Congratulations.

Oh boy...oh boy...oh boy!!!!1900s stetson special
1910s western
1930s stetson no.1
Thanks for the good words all.Oh my ...
Interesting detail. It's all about the details...Thanks for the good words all.
I wanted to do something different in my ribbon work, just a subtle difference.
I got this idea, from a study I did, on a 1930s Dobbs that I sold to Bowen.
I liked the unique ribbon anchor, and applied it here.

how so ?
honest question ... not challenging you in any way ... just truly not sure what you mean by that
do you own any whippets ?
gotcha ... never handled a modern "Whippet"The "clownish" comment was aimed more toward the modern incarnations. The wide binding in high contrast to the felt isn't my thing particularly when the colors get wild.
It's just my opinion.

We appear to share similar tastes in that regard. Whether wide or narrow I prefer brim bindings that are color matched to the felt, or at least provide minimal contrast. There are exceptions of course, and it really depends on the hat and the colors, but generally speaking a high contrast brim binding makes a hat look cheap, cheesy, and gaudy to me.The "clownish" comment was aimed more toward the modern incarnations. The wide binding in high contrast to the felt isn't my thing particularly when the colors get wild.
