I had a custom hat done by Colorado Mountain Hat Co., a small mom and pop shop, a few years back, and while the quality of it was amazing, the brim ended up being a bit too large and cowboyish for my taste. I thought I could get away with that look, but I really couldn't.

I recently contacted them, and they said they would have no problem changing it to match what I'd like, so I sent it in, and am waiting to get it back.

Just got in the queue at Black Sheep Hatworks for a hat he calls The Imperial. Color is Black Cherry in 100% Beaver with a long hair finish. Only 9 months to wait now. Bob has invited me out for the fitting when time. Will be fun to meet him and see his shop.

I don't think these were expensive hats when new, but I do hope they are really from Oz not China.
I DO like the pin and very much like the band. I hope those are real elk teeth.
Nuttin' fancy. I'se g'wine trim from 1/4" -1/2" from the brim, but I love that crown height and teardrop shape!
A good 'fixer upper'.
