Well, I thought I wouldn't have this in hand until Monday, but I received a surprisingly early delivery at the office today.

What was listed as an "old Knox" is a mighty nice Fifteen. Sure, it has a few blemishes, but so do I. And it fits!

The Knox 15 is very knice indeed!

I've not been in buying mode for a while, but got a vintage Panama today and my next hat is one of these, happily sitting on the fence at Mr. Jessee's place.

Compared to the Hampton, yes it does. But compared to most other Akubra hats, it's a stingy brim.

The Fed IV is a terrific hat. But, like any other hat, it's not "right" for everyone.

Well, i'm mostly used to trilbies and panama so the Fed IV looked quite hight to me. i dunno for other fedora but yes, generally speaking they have a high crown and a larger brim. The Hampton is for me a sort of transition in between a trilby and a regular fedora

I understand this perfectly, from the opposite angle. I'll wear one of my Akubra Campdrafts for a while (which have a wider brim than the Fed IV), and when I switch to one of my Fed IVs I feel like I'm wearing a Trilby. lol
