What hat are you waiting for today?

Sometimes a hat you definitely do not need just shows up and has your name on it. In this case, very close to literally. A Julius Garfinckel from the Washington DC store was up on eBay and, even though I did pay more than I wanted to, I am waiting on a fine hat and hatbox with a great name attached. I guess this is how folks named Stetsin must feel looking at hats?

Oh how I wished this had been advertised correctly! Advertised as a 7 1/8, my size, it was a 6 7/8. Aside from the name, it did me no good and I couldn't justify keeping it at the price. Fortunately the seller refunded me. If anyone comes across another, in a 7 1/8, DM me.

Cavanagh Forty. Dates 1944 to 1950. Has 3 inch brim and 5 3/4 open crown. Owned by General James H Stratton, of the Army Corps of Engineers, which is what I was a member of in Vietnam. I see that this hat belonged to Lounge member singlechange, who posted it last in 2024 and first posted it in 2016.

Its been a busy hat week..... just picked up another! What looks like a really nice Stetson Hemp Open Road in Bronze. Ive got 4 Hemp Stratoliners that I love, but didnt have any Open Roads in hemp.Several grey, tan and silverbelly OR, but no hemp... Fixed THAT problem!

So I just picked up this Lee for a song, but I won't be sure what I got until it gets here. Photos were not plentiful but it does look like a very moldable crown. Any Lee experts have any ideas what I'm waiting on? I checked the Lee Lounge, but I won't post there until I know what I have.

Oooh, I like that one! If I ever found one in my size I'm pretty sure I'd pay a reasonable price for it.

Great hat. A Cavanagh Forty is on my bucket list of hats. Love the brand

Disney Fifteen. I think this liner design is supposed to be 1947 or earlier.

Well I see the US Post Office is doing its best again! lol This nice little Stetson left South Carolina the other day on its way to East Texas...... it arrived in San Francisco yesterday...... Missed Texas by just a little bit lol.... So far its scanned in at NINE different USPS facilities. Im guessing they either use really poor A.I. for their routing or the postal workers skipped geography class in school

The post office finally got tired of shipping this poor little Royal Stetson all around and got it to me today. Really clean hat. Marked as a 7-1/4 long oval but its just a bit snug.... sitting on the stretcher for a bit to see if I can persuade it closer to the top of my ears. No liner inside but I can take care of that
