Intra is the larger town before Ghiffa (Panizza) on Lake Maggiore. The oldest + largest factory in Intra was Albertini (older than Panizza). I am not aware of Martinelli and if they were a factory. What does it say above Intra on the liner? Daniele might have some information. Here is a photo of the hat factories in Intra as of 1895.Martinelli thin ribbon

WELL.................the hat arrived.....and as with so much Ebay stuff.....it WAS NOT MY SIZE.....do not know how they managed to be so far off in their measurement but it was not one, but 2 (TWO) sizes too small. BUT, it is an awesome hat in a kind of heathered really dark, dark brown (I suppose Dobbs had their Gamebird name for the color) and it looks and feels great. About a 5 1/4 open crown and a 2 3/8 under-welt brim. It has the blocking tag and is clearly a 7 1/4 and measures as such. Liner is sewn in and has the great embroidered silk game-bird logo. I am going to press up the liner and steam and brush the hat up......AND when I am done admiring it as well as crying that it does not fit me.....I suppose I will list it here....
