YOOO, my old Merkur 15c handle fits on the current King C. Gillette DE razor head! I will not use the too long Gillette handle.

I'm looking forward to the next days, I tell you!!

Indeed a very gentle DE razor! The feeling was nearly identical to my beloved Merkur 15c.

I switched the used Gillette blade from the Merkur into the Gillette to have the realistic test!

I just tried the 1977 products from Rex Supply Co. Very nice! The tallow-based shave soap is more like a "croap" than either a cream or a soap. Even with a Rex DE blade on its 4th tour of duty, it cut through 3 days of stubble effortlessly. The after shave splash was invigorating and had some staying power throughout the day. I found myself channeling Starsky and Hutch, the Steve Miller Band, and a green 1973 Dodge Charger. Having tried samples of all of Rex Supply's "Decade" soaps: 1944, 1955, 1966, 1977, and 1988 -- all of which were excellent, by the way -- I was surprised to find out that I liked 1977 the best. It was imaginative, evocative, and downright fun. An excellent shave!

-King C. Gilette DE razor
-KCG blade
-greybadger brush
-Wilkinson shave soap stick (out of production)
-Tüff classic (Red) after shave

Yep, as I said, the new Gillette is a very gentle DE razor. I would rate it as perfect for beginners! You just can't do wrong with it. :)

In direct comparison, my old Merkur 33c is still much too aggressive for me, same as the 23c was, before I gave it away. But my 15c is still good and gentle.

Thanks for the report on this razor. I might pick one up now to try out.

The King C. Gillette is a ZAMAC (zinc alloy) razor, correct? Just a tip for those not aware, be careful not to chip or crack the plating. It will also pay to lubricate the threads on the post to reduce wear and tear on the plating on the threads. This will help extend the life of the razor. The underlying zinc alloy material will corrode away quickly if the plating is breached. Maybe this has been mentioned already, I don't recall.
